24TH ANNUAL JUMP ROPE CONTEST
I am pleased to announce this year’s contestants. Each child in grades K-4 participated in a one minute hot pepper jumping contest. The object is to jump as many times as possible in one minute. The top six scores from each grade level advance to the final round of the jump rope contest. This year’s event will take place on TODAY, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 2:40 in the gym and everyone is welcome to attend! Way to go kids!!! 4th Grade Parents: On Wednesday, March 14th, students in 4th grade will visit Lineville Intermediate School for a Music Class Demonstration. Your child will need to choose a music class for 5th grade. Musicians in Band, Chorus, and Orchestra will perform for the 4th graders and discuss the music class options. After March 14th you will be able to register your class choice using an internet link which will be emailed to you. Music class registrations will be due by March 23rd. National School Breakfast Week is taking place March 5-9 with this year’s theme being “I Heart School Breakfast.” Did you know, students who eat school breakfast are more likely to score higher on standardized tests, have better concentration and memory, be more alert, and maintain a healthy weight?! With hectic mornings, your child has healthy breakfast options available at school! Keep an eye out for some of our most popular breakfast items this week as well as a couple of new items. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in activities and receiving giveaways during breakfast this week. March is National Nutrition Month. We take the time to focus on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits during this month. NEW SCHOOL CALENDAR: Our schools now use the Activity Scheduler from rSchoolToday as our School Calendaring system. All of the information is updated in real-time. This link rSchoolToday Calendar walks you through the process to view the events you choose. Once you choose what you want to see on the report it gives the option to subscribe to the calendar. Also, when you go to the Suamico web page, to see the whole calender, click on "Go to main calendar" under the Upcoming Events Calendar and you will be able to choose the month/date.

- Read-A-Thon - Make-up Date is Thursday, March 8 - please consider joining us for our Read-A-Thon (make-up date) on Thursday, March 8 in the library. Bring your family, some great books and something to get comfortable with (pillows, sleeping bags, etc.) and enjoy an evening of reading! Teachers will be guest readers throughout the night! Come anytime between 3:45-6:00 pm!
