Little Free Libraries are a global phenomenon. The small neighborhood-based book exchanges number 36,000 around the world in 70 countries - from Iceland to Tasmania to Pakistan. AND now to the Suamico Elementary School Forest is located on School Lane. Our Little Library is officially registered as Charter #68418 and was donated through a grant from HSEF. It is our hope that the new free Little Library will bring more joy, more connection to nature, and a whole lot more books to our community!! 2018 FIELD DAY - JUNE 1ST!
Field Day has been scheduled for June 1st from 12:30-3:00. As in the past, parents are welcome to join the children for lunch on the hill. CLICK HERE for the lunch schedule (students will eat lunch before going to recess on this day). WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS TO RUN GAMES DURING FIELD DAY. Students are invited to bring in coins on Tuesday May 29, Wednesday May 30 and Thursday May 31. The coins will be used to VOTE for the game that they will play with Mr. Welnetz during Field Day. Proceeds will go to the Giving Tree's Back to School event which provides school supplies, backpacks and shoes for families in need in our school district community. We have a VERY large supply of lost and found items! When you stop by the school, please come inside and take a look to see if anything belongs to your child. The table is located across from the office. Any clothing that is not picked up by Thursday, June 7th, 2018 will be donated to the Howard Suamico Giving Tree.

The 2017-2018 school year is almost in the books. The Board of Education would like to extend a thank you for another great year. As we reflect back on an outstanding year of accomplishments, we are honored by:
-Bay View Middle and Lineville Intermediate schools 2017 National Healthy School Award;
-Bay Port One Act Play honored with the State of Wisconsin Award;
-Suamico Elementary earning a Significantly Exceeds Expectations on the State Report Card;
-Golden Apple Recipient April White, Suamico Elementary, and five Teachers of Distinction honored at the Golden Apple Awards;
-Successful passage of the Operational Referendum in the Spring Election;
-Bay View Middle and Bay Port High schools awarded the Spirit of Excellence Award for Best in State;
-Countless stellar performances by all of our talented theatre and music students and devoted teachers;
-Numerous wins on the playing fields by our athletic students and dedicated coaches.

EVENT RESCHEDULED!
Due to weather forecast Friday, the Sweet Safari event scheduled for Friday, May 11 at the NEW Zoo is postponed until June 8. Sweet Safari for Education has been rescheduled for June 8, 5-8 pm. The NEW Zoo and the Howard-Suamico Education Foundation are excited to host the third annual Sweet Safari for Education – A Wild Artistic Adventure. The Sweet Safari will feature over 150 pieces of student artwork and sweet treats from local vendors for kids and adults of all ages. Face painting, animal encounters, a bounce house, free carousel rides, and an inflatable obstacle course are also planned. Tickets include admission to the event at the NEW Zoo and Adventure Park and are available for $10 in advance at all Northeast Wisconsin Festival Foods locations & Howard or $12 at the door. End of School Year: it is unbelievable to think that we are at the end of another school year! Here are some things to know for the end of the school year:

- Wednesday May 30 and Thursday May 31 - COIN DRIVE (to choose which game students will play with Mr. Welnetz at Field Day...proceeds go to the HSSD Back-to-School Event which purchases backpacks and school supplies for district families in need)
- Friday, June 1 - Lunch on the Hill with parents / families AND Field Day
- Wednesday, June 6 - Yearbooks will go home
- Thursday, June 7 - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL, Early Release at 1:25 pm and Yearbook Signing at 8:45 am...please send yearbooks to school on the last day.
