IMPORTANT BEGINNING OF THE YEAR INFORMATION!
MEDICATION AT SCHOOL:
For the safety of students, medications should not be taken at school unless it is absolutely necessary. Any medication to be taken at school needs to be brought in by a parent with the proper medication forms.
The medication needs to be in the original container, which indicates dosage amount and frequency of medication. These items will be kept in the health room. Students are not allowed to transport medications. Parents need to bring in medications to school and take them home when a student is finished. Medications will not be given to any student without the proper paperwork on file or if the medication is not in the original container. You can print the forms needed by clicking on the links below.
Over the counter Medication: Parent Request & Authorization to Administer Medication

There will be an informational meeting for boys aged kindergarten to fourth grade on Monday morning September 11 as boys exit the bus/enter for school. There will be a parents informational meeting on Thursday September 14 at 6:30 in the Suamico commons. The first Pack meeting will be Tuesday September 19 at 6:30 in the Suamico commons and thereafter meetings are held the second Monday of each month. New this year will be the opportunity for kindergarten boys to join Pack 4033 as a group known as Lions. Please direct any questions to Cub Master Bill Krause at [email protected] DROPPING STUDENTS OFF BEFORE SCHOOL: If you drop your child off at school each day, please wait until 8:30 to do so. Drop-off occurs at Door #2 in the front of the building. Because our staff are typically involved in morning meetings, there is no supervision available until the bell rings at 8:35. We appreciate your understanding! PLEASE NOTE: if you are going to walk into the school with your child for drop-off in the morning, DO NOT PARK in the front of school. Please pull into the east lot and walk in with your child. Parking in the front of the school creates big back-ups for other parents. Thanks!
At the end of the day, pick-up occurs at Door #8 (east side of the building). You must come into the building to pick your child up! In addition, if there is a change to your child's drop off or pick up procedure for the day, it is imperative that you let the child's teacher and the office know, as well as Champions if it is applicable. |

PRINCIPAL MESSAGE:
- Welcome to the 2017-18 School Year! We are excited to have you at Suamico Elementary and are looking forward to working with your children each day! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office at 920-662-9800! (Secretaries are Cindy Schouten and Megan Jarosinski)
- We had a GREAT START to our school year (see pictures below). I met with all of the students and introduced them to three major concepts that we will focus on during this school year:
- Voice Volume - we talked about appropriate voice volumes in school. We use a 0 - 4 scale to describe voice volumes (0=silent, 1=whisper, 2=normal speaking voice, 3=loud speaking voice, 4=screaming). Quiz your kids on the voice volume levels and see if they can tell you which voice volumes are appropriate for lunch (0, 1 or 2).
- Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible - these are the three words that we focus on each and every day. A focus on these three things allows our students to have a reasonably appropriate day at school!
- GRIT - our main school-wide focus this year will be on "grit". We talked with the students about using grit to get through tough times and that a focus on the idea of "Try Everything" - even if failure occurs - is how grit works. I used the song "Try Everything" by Shakira from the movie Zootopia to explain what I meant. Talk to your kids about using GRIT at school and in life!
- Thanks for sharing your children with us! We are so excited for a great school year!
Have a great week!
