The Suamico Sweetheart Auction is approaching! Families, area businesses, and friends of Suamico Elementary come together for this huge event filled with games for kids and adults, food and refreshments, a glow dance party, a photo booth, face painting, cake walk game, meat raffle, 50/50 raffle, over 100 silent auction baskets or large items, and more. This event truly offers something for everyone! It is an amazing night to get out as a family and show support for our school. The best part is that all proceeds benefit our kids right here at Suamico!
Tickets for activities may be pre-purchased at https://squareup.com/store/suamico-elementary-pto or may be purchased at the door using credit card, cash, or check.
As you know, an event like this is only possible with the tremendous support of your families! Here is how you can help:
Donations: We are still accepting donations for silent auction baskets and prizes for kids’ games. Maybe you received a holiday gift that wasn’t quite a match for you? We have a place for it in our auction! Do you know of a business that would love to support our school? Feel free to drop off any donation at the school. We’re happy to pick it up from you, too!
Auction Basket Assembly: Join us in room 200 (no skill required) from 6-8pm every Monday plus the last two Thursdays before the event (Jan 30th and Feb 6th) to help assemble auction baskets and more!
Donated Baked Goods: Please consider donating homemade or purchased baked goods on Feb 7th for the cake walk game. This game is always one of the kids’ favorite games. Baked goods can be dropped off Feb 6th (all day) or Feb 7th (before 10 am) at the school.
Auction Volunteers: We welcome adults and students (grade 5 and up) to volunteer to set-up and help run activities during the event. Please consider signing up for a shift to help out at the following link: http://signup.com/go/KOGWGnH.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Kristen at (920) 639-7576 or [email protected] or Kendra at (920) 366-2137 or [email protected].
Thanks for your continuous support!

HOW TO EARN FOR SUAMICO ELEMENTARY...... BOX TOPS MAKES IT EASY:
No more clipping. No more sending Box Tops to school. All you need is your phone. Download the ALL-NEW Box Tops app and link your account to Suamico Elementary, shop as you normally would, then simply scan your store receipts to find participating products. The app will automatically credit your school's Box Tops earnings online.
**You can still clip them and send them to school. Physical Box Top clips are being phased out of production but may continue to be found on many products throughout the store. Send your clipped Box Tops, along with any unexpired clips you may have at home to Suamico Elementary! CLICK HERE TO SEE A VIDEO ON HOW THE NEW PROCESS WORKS: https://youtu.be/PvRWQLA-jRI ![]() New Visitor Procedure
In order to ensure the safety of our students and staff, the District will now be utilizing the Raptor security software in all of our schools. Visitors and/or volunteers must present their drivers license or a photo id upon arrival in the office. It will be scanned by office personnel, and a badge printed with your picture along with the date and time. This badge must be visible while you are in the building during the school day. If you are dropping something off in the office, or signing your child in or out of school, you will not need to present your id. A new badge will be created each time you visit, so it is important to always have your photo id with you. THE FLU: CLICK HERE for "The Flu: A Guide for Parents"

FEBRUARY KINDNESS CHALLENGE:
Student Council has chosen February as the month we will be honoring kindness at Suamico Elementary. We will be doing a whole school kindness challenge and we are making some tweaks to the process this year.
Who: K-4 students
What: Kindness Challenge
When: The whole month of February
Where: Student can complete the acts of kindness in/outside of school
How: Your son/daughter will be given a bingo card with several acts of kindness on it that they will be asked to complete, in any order, over the month of February. By encouraging your child to participate in the kindness challenge they could experience physical, social, and emotional benefits and lasting character building values. It's a win/win situation for your child, classmates, and the whole school community! Once your child has completed the bingo card, please spend some time looking/talking it over with him/her and sign and return it to their teacher. When the teacher receive the completed and signed bingo card he/she will then give your child a special kindness award. Their bingo card will then be placed in a whole-grade level bin to be randomly drawn for a bigger prize and recognition over the school announcements. Ultimately, we want to encourage kindness in/outside of school. Please let me know if you have any questions about the process and thank you for your support!
Why: Because... kindness is cool! :)

FROM THE SCHOOL BOARD:
January, 2020
Learning and Growing Together at the State Education Convention
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” Nelson Mendela
The State Education Convention, sponsored in part by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB), met January 21-24 in Milwaukee and provided an opportunity for school board members and other administrators from HSSD to network, learn and share important issues related to public education in Wisconsin.
With the theme of “Expanding Your Vision,” representatives heard keynote speakers and attended breakout sessions focusing on student learning, school finances, mental health, building community relationships, just to name a few. Learning from another school board or district can open new possibilities or create a reflection on our current policies for the Howard-Suamico School District.
