As you know, we recently changed our drop-off procedures to ensure a greater level of safety for all involved. Here are a few thoughts on how the changes are going:
- All in all, drop-off seems to be smoother and safer. Kids now have a defined sidewalk to use at drop-off and this helps quite a bit!
- Observation 1: a few people are still using the drop-off area to park for a short period of time. Please use the drop-off area for drop-offs only! If you need to park, please use the east parking lot only (also, don't park in the front of the school...this just causes more congestion and confusion).
- Observation 2: some kids are getting out of cars on the left side. For their safety, please only allow your children to get out on the RIGHT SIDE of the car!
- Observation 3: because there is a defined sidewalk, please pull ahead as far as you can when dropping your child so that other cars can get in behind you and then let your child walk on the sidewalk to the front door.
- Observation 4: some parents are using the east parking lot to park and then walking with their children to the front door. I encourage you to do this...thank you! (In other words, don't ever let your child walk through the parking lot without you).
