SUAMICO LITERACY NEWS:
Thank you to everyone for keeping the Little Library stocked with books all summer long!!!! If you haven’t visited yet, our Little Library is located behind our school next to the playground. It’s been great to see so many children's books being shared for anytime reading! Please continue to donate your used books to the library for others to love and enjoy as well! The goal is to share books so take a book and return a book whenever you’d like. We hope to see your kiddos visiting the Little Library soon! FALL FIELD TRIPS:
The 2nd graders will be going to Heritage Hill on Thursday, October 11th! The students will need a bagged lunch. They can bring their own lunch or indicate on the order form if they would like to purchase one from food service. The cost of the lunch will be taken out of their lunch accounts. The cost of the field trip is $6.00. Click the "2nd Grade Heritage Hill Field Trip" link below to sign up and pay! All payments are due no later than Friday, September 28th. The 3rd graders will be going to Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve on Thursday, October 11th! The students will need a bagged lunch. They can bring their own lunch or indicate on the order form if they would like to purchase one from food service. The annual punt, pass, and kick event will be held at Suamico Elementary School on Friday, September 28th. The rain date will be October 1st. This annual "sign of the fall season" is for 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls and is run through their PE classes. Therefore, the event is held during the school day. All the 3rd and 4th grade students at Suamico will take part in the activity. The event is very enjoyable and I encourage everyone to try their best and support their classmates!!! I am in need of many parent helpers to assist with measuring and scoring during the event. If you are able to assist please let me know. The event runs in two sessions, one from 8:40 – 10:00 and the other from 9:50 – 11:05. Please contact me at [email protected] or 662-9857 if you are interested in helping with this fun-filled event! Thank you, Mr. Murphy Suamico Physical Education HEARING SCREENING FOR KINDERGARTEN AND 1ST GRADE WAS SEPTEMBER 24TH, 2018: The Brown County Health Department staff came to Suamico on Monday, September 24th to provide a Hearing Screening for our Kindergarten and 1st Graders. THANK YOU so much to our parent volunteers Stephanie Perra and
Kristen VerHaagh for assisting with the screening process....YOU ARE APPRECIATED! 4TH GRADE FIELD TRIP TO MADISON: Although it is quite a ways away, the 4th grade Field Trip to Madison is scheduled for Monday, June 3rd, 2019. Please mark your calendars! If you plan on attending the field trip with your child, you must complete a background check. Please CLICK HERE and you will be brought to the HSSD webpage where you can complete your on-line application. Please don't wait until the last minute as it takes a while for your background check to be reviewed. THANK YOU!

Dear Suamico Families! At the end of the 2017-18 school year, many of you completed a very brief survey. We have begun the process of compiling those results & providing valuable & informative feedback. Below you will see a bar graph indicating one of the top things that you want communicated between school and home -- Community Activities/Resources. You asked - We listened! **There is a Community Corner link within the Newsletter each week. Please be sure to click this link for updated Events & Resources. This list will not be all inclusive, but will detail some useful information within our larger community. In the near future we will be addressing the other topics you would like more information on - stay tuned! Register today for the 2018-2019 Youth Wrestling Program for (pre-kindergarten through 5th grade)
The Bay Port Wrestling Program would like to invite area youth to participate in the 2018-19 youth wrestling season. Registration can be done online and is currently open and will remain open until November 12.
